Meet Katie Yeo

Introduce yourself
Born and raised in the small town of Chelsea, Quebec just outside of Ottawa
I work as the High Performance & Programs Coordinator and have been with Sail Canada since July 2017

How do you do to contribute to Sail Canada?
High – Performance and Program Coordinator – coordinate aspect of the high performance programming and National Team & coordinate programming including instructor and coaching training and national championships.

Which storybook/cartoon character can you relate too the most?
Moana, she always wants to be near the water

What is your secret talent?
Touching my nose with my tongue

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
Either teleportation or the ability to never be cold

What is a random fact about you?
I don’t know is this is random, but something not everyone know is I have a Master of Human Kinetics with a Specialization in Applied Sport Psychology from the University of Ottawa and I am a Professional Member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

If you had to choose a theme song, what would it be?
Spice up your life – Spice Girls

Where is your favourite place in Canada?
This is a tough questions but I think will have to say Tofino on Vancouver Island, but Lake Louise and Banff are a close number two.

What made you want to be apart of the Sail Canada organization?
The sport of sailing has given me so much as a person and an athlete, I wanted to be part of ensuring other people and young sailors have the same amazing experiences with the sport that I did.

If you had one piece of advice to give to the sailing community, what would it be?Ask questions and share knowledge, you never know who you can learn something from.
